Julia joined the Reef Ecology Lab in 2010 as a PhD student. In her dissertation, she employed an integrated approach of fisheries dependent and independent survey methods combined with molecular tools to provide biological, ecological, and fisheries data to aid in the assessment of the status of elasmobranch populations in the Red Sea. She graduated from the PhD program in spring 2014.
